As our children head back to school, we have some time to read and educate ourselves in order to be more effective parents and help our children maximize their potential.
Raising happy, healthy, children is one of the most challenging jobs we parents have. In the “Ten Basic Principles of Good Parenting”, author Lauren Steinberg PhD gives practical advice on raising well adjusted children. One of his ten principles that we all need to learn and implement-“You Cannot Love Your Children too Much”. It is not possible to spoil your children with love. When children act spoiled it is usually because we replace love with, being overly lenient, lowered expectations, and material possessions.
So show your child you love him, but don’t mistake that to mean “buying” his or her love.
